My mam has just found out she has kidney cancer, is it terminal?im only 17 and i really don't want to lose my mam if it is ' Please They say its only small, but im still scared.it's 2.5 cm lump.

My best friend passed away of kidney cancer last June. I've been doing fundraisers to raise money for a memorial outside of the middle school which was her last year of school, 8th grade. I'm getting photo tags made soon and i need a really good quote to put on the back of the necklace. i was looking for like a bravery quote or a courageous quote or something like that.something that when people read it they will remember how she stayed strong. any ideas? thanks

Thanks In April I was in the hospital for a really bad kidney infection for 4 days and was on medication for it for the next month, they did a ct scan while I was there and my doctor said there was some damage on my kidney from the infection and they saw that I had a cyst on my kidney.. So i had an MRI done in June, one with and without the coloring stuff through the iv. And they gave me the disc with all the pictures on it. Once they saw that I had a cyst they reffered me to a specialist and scheduled the MRI. And the hospital I was going to was about 20 minutes away from my house. Then I couldnt get an appointment with the specialist until today, September 23rd. And he was like 2 hours away. Not that that really matters.. So today I saw the specialist. He looked at the disk with my ct pictures and the mri pictures right in front of me and pointed everything out and explained it. The other dr said i had ONE cyst on my kidney... Come to find out that my entire left kidney is COVERED in ABNORMAL cysts... He said he wouldnt be worried if thet looked like normal cysts, he said a " normal" cyst would be perfectly round, or oval or whatever shape but like no imperfections around th edges if that makes sense. But mine were shaped differently, with imperfections. My left kidney was wayyyy bigger than the right, but they thought it might have been from the infection and medication, and it had gotten a little smaller since the ct scan when they did the mri.. But other than that nothing had changed. He said cysts are very common on kidneys and he wouldnt be worried about it if they were shaped like safe, normal cysts.. But since my kidney is completly covered in abnormal cysts, hes a bit concerned. And since they arent normal he brought up the " what if" s of cancer. He said the risks are very low for a 17 year old to have kidney cancer.. And I am 17. But with the way my kidney looks, that risk just went up. Im getting another MRI done this coming week and seeing the specialist again the same day. Because it has been a few months since the last one so an update would be good before they decide to do surgery. To check and see if it has gotten any better. If that is even possible. He said if there isnt any improvement, they are taking out my whole kidney and sending it out to be tested for cancer. Then we'll go from there.. He isnt going to do a biopsy because they would have to get a biopsy from all of them.. And if they are cancerous then they would be spilling cancerous fluid into my whole abdomen. I get random sharp pains in my side. I mentioned that and he said it might be from this, or it could be from my intestons or something. What do you think of this, and can i expect? What if I do have cancer??? Im only 17 and the thought of that terrifies me. What would happen if I do have cancer? Where would we go from there? By the sounds of it, it looks like Im going to have some kind of surgery either way. If there is no improvement, im getting my kidney taken out, But he is very concerned and looks like he would want to take it out to be tested either way.. So tell me about that kind of surgery? Hi my mom is 75 years old, 25 years ago she had breast cancer & her breast was removed completely with no chimo needed. 11 years ago she got lung cancer & they removed a part of one of her lungs with no chimo needed as well. Today after an ultrasound they found 2 tumors in both kidneys , one kidney has tumor 8 cm and other kidney tumor is 6cm. All of a sudden her blood pressure has gone from normal to extremely high always ranging over 175. Pills were given to lower it but after 2 weeks it s now about 150. We are waiting for her biopsy to get results about her tumors. They said if same tumor as previous two cancers, then hormonal pills will be all she needs. if new cancer, then surgury. As for the high blood pressure, he believes it s the beginning of kidney failure. questions 1 if tumor is removed or reduced, will this lower her blood pressure?2 is the high blood pressure a sign that apart from her tumors, her kidneys are now starting to fail?3 does she have high blood pressure because of the tumors?Anyone know what all this means for my mom, she is on a priority list to get appt with kidney specialist, yes all doctors are too busy to take new patients so she s on a priority list. So sad our medical system.Can anyone tell me if my mom will be okay with all this or is this a bad sign that her kidneys are failing completely?Please serious answers, this is my mother & I love her so much.she has had cancer twice, first was breast cancer & then lung cancer. doctors said if these tumors in her kidneys are the same type of cancer as the cancer type she had with breast & lung, then all she will need is hormonal treatment to reduce the tumors.what is bilateral cancer?

My grandfather was just diagnosed with kidney cancer. He is going for surgery very soon I guess to remove the kidney. Supposedly he'll be ok as long as it hasn't spread to other parts of his body because people can live with one kidney. I am getting married in May which is about 6 months away and I really want him to be there. He would have to fly to where my wedding is. Does anyone have experience with kidney cancer? Will he be able to make it to my wedding?Celeste You're not too bright are you? I already said he was " diagnosed with kidney cancer" . I don't need you to tell me he has kidney cancer.
Is the kidney cancer ribbon green or orange?
My father has passed away of renal kidney cancer and I would like to get a tattoo of the awareness ribbon and his dates. I've looked on multiple sites and some say green is kidney cancer while others are saying orange is the correct kidney cancer ribbon. Does anyone know which one is accurate and let me know how they know its accurate? Im hearing that it used to be green but has changed to orange but I'm not sure how true this is. Ultrasound Ability to detect kidney cancer ?
Hello. i have just had a ultrasound done on my stomach. the results came back to my doctor not family doctor saying 2 cysts were found one was 2.5 cm and the other 3 cm. the doctor suggested a ct scan and i was willing to but suffer from bad anxiety and can not be there for 10 minutes. at the age of 4 i had kidney relfex surgery and there is a chance it left scar tissue.... is there anyother way to rule out cancer?
Could i have stomach or kidney cancer?
I am 19 year old female, 5'2, and i weigh 96lbs. I have been getting sick and bloated after meals And haven't been able to eat alot. I just recently started having really watery stool and frequently occurring bowl movements after every meal. I can't sleep even though im always tired. I woke up with a nose bleed tonight with blood all on my pillow. I have been getting a tickle in my lungs when i breathe but only sometimes and recently my throats been sore i constantly feel thirsty. This sick feeling after every meal has occurred for a while now. I went to The doctor a while back and they gave me a sonigram and a ct scan and found a dot in my kidney and said it was a pen dot size of a kidney stone. My dad has kidney stones and doesn't have there issues. I feel like im falling apart... What could be wrong with me? Please help
My mother has stage 4 renal (kidney) cancer.?
It has spread to her lung, lymph node, and brain.The only treatment offered so far is to treat just the tumors in her brain so that it won't affect her movement skills. The rest of the cancer,no treatment offered. Has anybody been thru this? What can we expect? How long do you think she has,honesty please.I just want the truth, Thanks.
