My girlfriend has melanoma skin cancer. how serious is this?
my girlfriend Rebecca had said that she has melanoma skin cancer. i know that so far that they have found a mole on her back and it was removed and that she has to go into the doctors in 2 weeks to be seen.how serious is this and can this be taken care of and the cancer stopped. i am very concerned about her and i do love her very much. also does any one know of some helpful medical web sites that are good with looking up information on melanoma skin cancer ? if my girlfriend ends up dying from this,,, i am going to totally lose my mind. i am feeling very depressed and even getting the thoughts of feeling suicidal over this.Bobby
Is it too late to prevent skin cancer?
I'm fifteen. Since the seventh grade I have been spray tanning and do not go out in the summer sun. Last year I discovered tanning beds and went in one twice in the same week. A few weeks ago I went to one twice again in the same week. This week I have been three times, for a total of seven times all together. But after reading scary skin cancer stuff online and freaking out about my moles I am vowing to never go ever again. Is it too late to prevent skin cancer? What can I do to make sure I catch it if not? Help Allow me to add that I am so badly burned today...

i know someone who just discovered that a mole on his leg is melanoma skin cancer. he is 19, and has had the mole his whole life. does that mean it was always melanoma? or can it just " become" melanoma. please answer only if you actually know, or give a link that can help me. thanks.

About two years ago I had second degree sunburns all over the top half of my body, and about a month ago I noticed a reddish sort of crusty area on my left side, it looks like eczema but I've never had it before. It hasn't really changed in over a month. The outside is slightly faded making a red and a bit uneven outline. The mole is red and brown and a bit magenta in some spots. Its about the size of a pencil eraser circle. It is constantly growing and changing shape. It was about 2 thirds this size yesterday. It hurts to push down on and it is not sticking out.Please dont tell me to get it checked out because my mom wont let me.

I have a mole on my arm above my elbow. I have had it since I was born. It is large than a pencil eraser and has a few smaller dark spots in it. It hasn't chance that I can tell but I recently started having some pains in my arm. Not horrible pain just and ache that comes and goes. Im not sure if its all in my head from being freaked out or not. My dog was just diagnosed with skin cancer and it has me thinking about my arm. I made an appointment with a Dermatologist but can't be seen until April. That's 3 months away I am really freaking out Has anyone had skin cancer or know if this could be a sign of cancer? It hasn't ever bleed or anything like that and the actual mole doesn't hurt. Any info would help me out, thanks I know I should have had it looked at a long time ago. It just never really crossed my mind because I have always had it.
