I married a man, not a baby, and I don't intend to change diapers. Do you think I'm right to divorce him now, or would the right thing to be to stick it out? It'll probably only be a few more months, that's what the doctors say.

What is the best way to treat terminal-stage cancer pain?
My aunt, who is 93, has severe cancer pain. They don't know what type it is, as she is too old for a biopsy. They think it is perhaps colon cancer. She was in a lot of pain, so now they are managing it with morphine and sedatives. My other aunt, who is a nurse, says the sedatives are making her too drowsy, and at times, incoherent senile . She wasn't senile before her mind was sharp . Should they only be using morphine as my young aunt says , rather than morphine with the sedatives? Why can't they juse use high doses of morphine, so she could be more alert?
End stage cancer, what to do?
Very long story short My mom has lung cancer with numerous metasases to the brain. Mom lived with my grandma for 2 years, but they are not getting along at ALL. So I picked mom up on Christmas Eve, and brought her to my sisters. I live in another state, but I have been here ever since helping my mom My sister and I decided she is happier here, but I dont know how long we can take care of her. Today, she had a seizure which scared the crap out of my sister and I. We had to put my neices downstairs and tell them everything was ok with grandma as we were freaking out calling 911. Right now, I am listening to her on a baby monitor, in case she needs anything. She can barely walk, we have to help with everything. She has gone down hill very suddenly. So what should we do? She is only 57, and a lot of nursing homes will not take someone under 62. I can stay here as long as need be, but I am afraid we will not be able to take care of her much longer. She is also having radiation to her brain on Monday, which may make her sicker than she is now. My sister and I are just mentally and emotionally drained. Not to mention both of our marriages are strained to the max right now We would rather her be with family, but it is getting to be too much. The Doc has already approved hospice, but they only come twice a week. HELP Kare, the doc approved her for hospice, but they only come twice a week. She really needs round the clock attention. I cant leave and go home, because there is no way my sister can take care of mom and two kids.BTW There are no live in hospice facilities anywhere around here, thats the problem.Cali, I live in TN, but I am staying with my sister and brother in law in IL. The issue is not money, but a place that will take someone who is 57. Most nursing homes have an age limit of 62. We found one place, but it was horrible.

What stage cancer is it?
My Grandma recently had surgery for colon cancer. About 75 % of her large bowel was removed along with lymph nodes. The pathology report says that all the lymph nodes removed had cancer. Her doctor says she has a 28 % chance of making it five years with no further treatment. My Grandma is not very forth coming with the details. We don't know if any other organs are involved or what stage it is in. What is her real outlook for time left with us? I just wish she would give the whole story. Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I'm having a really hard time accepting this. She refused chemo already. It only increased her chance of living five years to 33 % She said thats not worth it to her. Thanks for your answer. Good luck to you, and God bless.
End stage Cancer and feeding tubes?
My grandmother has end stage cancer that has spread throughout her body. She has out lived the amount of time that she was given six months after Chemo & Radiation was stopped. She's still hanging in there and it was suggested that the feeding tube she's been on for the last ten months be removed. Is she being starved to her end? I don't fully understand why this method would be used. Please, any advice?
